Panorama's of Engleberg...

1860 m High

For lunch we decided to go to the 'Berghotel Trubsee' and then for a drink 1860m high at the 'Brunnihutte SAC' both had breathtaking sights and crammed full of skiers and snowboarders. In many ways this was the life with only the sky above you.
As a beginner I was recommended to take the blue zone trails i.e. the (5) and not much else there were 4 blue trails all together each increasing in difficulty and I tried them all, the day was better than I imagined and it would be something I would advise people to try if they already haven't.

Skiing in Engleberg

I finally went skiing in Switzerland, I visited the small village of Engleberg just one hour from where I am staying. It was my first time skiing and i was slightly worried on how i would do but in the end i felt it went pretty well and i grasped it rather quickly. (I did fall over allot though!)
I traveled down with my mate Gil meider who is taking a music course in Lucerne.

Russel Cobb - 10,000 double spreads

Yesterday i attended another great lecture. Russell Cobb (Illustrator)
His lecture did not simply focus on his focus just on his work and why he did a particular piece he discussed his sketchbooks for the most part and then the transference and the progression from sketchbook to the final thing. It was inspirational..I immediately went out and brought a new sketchbook and drawing pen!

'Klas Katt Tv'

When i was at one of the galleries i bought a little comic box - 'Klas katt tv'. There were 8 in total each different. I quite enjoyed the simplicity of it ad thought i would share it with you all.
How it works is that you look into the eyepiece one the back of the little TV and then you click the button on the bottom and the panel comic on the inside moves from one panel to the next.(Hopefully that makes sense)

Some more Images from Fumetto

Fumetto and David Shrigley!

First day of the Comic Festival and the first thing i did was attend the 'David Shrigley' lecture! It was the the best lecture i have been to this year (well what i can remember anyway). He has a very dry sense of humour which comes out into his work which I love. He doesn't class himself as an illustrator he is more of a comic Artist / fine artists / animator and many other things except an illustrator. I was lucky enough to speak to him at the end and he even signed my book!
Some of my friends asked him to design them a tattoo which he also did, this is one of the things i found most amusing and so did he that people would ask him to design these ridiculous tattoos...anyway if anyone is interested http://www.davidshrigley.com/... i found it very inspirational.

Biography Images

This was a one day exercise given to us in the afternoon and then presented and discussed the following morning...This was produced on the 25th March sorry about the delay in putting it on the blog. I enjoyed this one, i thought it was a challenging exercise and one i have never done before. Hope you like them.

I had a thought...

After my Travels around Switzerland I have been sketching all the time or when I can and i quite like the idea just maybe as an exercise to produce a set of images done simply with black line and then the application of colour in maybe the form of a stamp to represent the different characteristics of Switzerland...early days still but an fun project on the side.
