Thomas Ott - Guest in Lecture
Also within the first presentation we had today, we had a special guest 'Thomas Ott'. Swiss artist Thomas Ott makes wordless scratchboard comix, born in Berne, Ott studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich and began working in the independent comics scene in the second half of the 1980s.
It was nice to have an outside practitioner within the lecture to provide us with his opinion and comments on the work.

Animation -Final
I finished my animation on the Friday, and I had the presentation today. The presentation went well. I explained my approach and method toward the project and then received feedback in terms of possible improvement and the positive aspect of the finished animation.
Overall I was pleased with the effort put in, and i will within the next couple of weeks change a few things in relation to some of the story and maybe adjust sound a little but nothing too major just little bits here and there.

Also Two students within my class worked on the interactive website to display the animations on the web. On the website there numerous things to click on including 'cycle 1 and 2'. When you click on these you will eventually be asked to score the animations based on the 'idea' 'sound' and 'style'. This is then also viewed in a table under the category of high scores. I think they did an excellent job and i have thoroughly enjoyed the project as a whole.
I have provided some screenshots of the interface below.
I hope you enjoy it!!
(The link for the website is at the bottom)
Also on the website place in your scores to rate the animations!!!!!

2nd 50
Here is a sneak peak at the second half of my animation I have finished about 95% of it so far with a few adjustments to be made....it has been an intense week and i have realised that i have had only 2 weeks to do this animation which is fine but all in all not a long time to do it but i feel my process has sped up so this has helped me to facilitate towards the faster pace adopted here. / / / keep posted for the final animations and the link for them online where the whole show will be consisting of the graphics and illustrations work.

Retro <> Interface

Here is an update on the Animation project we are doing. We all have our individual Characters and there story lines. There are also two people doing the interface or the 'stage' online. So there job is to create this system i.e. interface for the viewer to navigate through and to view the animations and the characters.
The above picture is an example of what it might look like, we were all asked in addition to the final animation to produce a profile picture of the character along with 5 pieces of information regarding the character i.e his name, his motivation, drive etc and 3 others.
I'm really excited to see the end result of every one's animations and also to see it within the interface on the web.
Ping <> Pong
Here are some random university pictures, there will be more to come just to give you a look at where I have been working the past 4 months...also I found a Ping Pong table and I have decided Bath Spa should get one! I'm only kidding but it does help if you are stressed (surprisingly). My time here is coming to a close and it is always the way that i want more time to do this and that, but from my trip i have no regrets and i am happy with the progress I have made overall. In no small way has this been an easy trip or second year but there have been valuable lessons learnt, in many ways this was the best time for this type of transition to happen before the 3rd year.
I am returning to good old England in 23 days and heading back in to bath shortly after.

'Collectables' - animation project
Here is a sneak peak at my new animation I am doing. This is for the final project of the semester. 5 Weeks is give in total create 2 animations the first week is create the introduction to the character, then the remaining time is the the story within the characters life.
\my character is called 'Phillipe' he is Canadian French and his best friend is his dog Oscar and he loves to hunt! You could say it is his obsession.
I have enjoyed this more than anticipated and the way they have decided to split it up into 2 animations has allowed all of us to invest more time into the depth of the character therefore making the story more interesting and relevant to the character's personality. All going well on this front keep posted for further updates regarding the animation.

2 day marathon - observation

One weekend after an inspirational lecture by Russel Cobb i invested some more time and thought towards my sketchbooks and increased the link from my sketchbook to final idea. It was a success and i am pleased with some of the observational studies i made and i will in the future continue to use the sketchbook as a crucial and helpful tool.
