Initial Sketches

Couple of sketches from...Lucerne...a few cafes i will put some more info on what i have being doing shortly...Of the crazy carnival!!!!

It has Charakter

I wandered in too the quaint town of Lucerne and it was as beautiful as I imagined. It oozed character and charm...While I was there I also bumped into the start of what is going to be a large carnival which is going to be happening over the next month!
I only had a taster of what is to come.

'Fasnachts - Maart LFK'

Every year, towards the end of winter, Carnival breaks out in the streets, alleyways and squares of the old town. This is a glittering outdoor party, where chaos and merriness reign and nothing is as it normally is. Strange characters in fantastic masks and costumes make their way through the alleyways, while carnival musicians (Guggenmusigen) blow their instruments in joyful cacophony and thousands of bizarrely clad people sing and dance away the winter.

Luzern Student

Earlier in the week i was emailed some work done by some of the previous students at Hochscule Luzern University by my new tutor Pierre Thome.

Zurich to Emmenbruke

The colourful trains of Zurich, they are of similar style to the ones in California (San Francisco), but with Swiss efficiency. The journey itself has been one of the most stress free, they seem to make it so simple to travel.

I arrived and it was already snowing, i took a second train from Zurich to Emmenbruke the place where i am staying, the view from my room was not affected by the snow, beautifull.

I have a week to settle and to gather my bearings and to get in the mindset for the months ahead.

I departed at 9.00am English time arrived 11.45 Swiss time in Zurich. My nerves left me the minute i got on the plane. As expected when flying with a Swiss airline there was chocolate involved funnily enough no cheese. But the flight was great and very spacious two seats to

myself. Basically i arrived safely.

I am attending Hochschule Luzerne-Design and Kunst University on a 4 month Student exchange program. I hope you enjoy following me on my journey.
